New South Thames Office in Guildford

Chelgate Local has opened an office at Guildford Business Park Road, as the company moves further in to the region. The full office address is Building 2, Guildford Business Park Road, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 8XG.

Michael Hardware, Chelgate Local director, said: “This is an important step for us as the South Thames has huge opportunities for growth given it a leading driver of new residential development in the country and a focus for national growth. The South Thames is also at the centre of Local Government Reform.”

The South Thames team is led by Chelgate Local Mark Walker and senior consultant Nick Wood-Dow, supported by Michael Hardware. Mark has previously worked for an MP and two MEPs in Westminster and Brussels and is a former planning officer and planning consultant. Nick is a local government specialist, based in Surrey, where he has previously been a councillor, serving on a planning committee and as vice-chairman of policy and resources.

Speaking ahead of the office opening Walker said, “Chelgate has been providing political engagement and community consultation support to our clients for almost 40 years and over the past decade we have worked on over 100 projects totalling over 50,000 dwellings. Over the last 2.5 years, we have enjoyed a 100% success rate on planning applications and local plan allocations, including projects in the South Thames region.”
